How to Auto Publish WordPress Post to Your Google Plus Page

In previous tutorials I showed you how to auto-publish WordPress post to facebook, twitter, etc using a plugin called NextScript: Social Networks Auto-Poster, SNAP for short. But what about Google plus page? You have to be a pro SNAP customer in order to auto-publish posts to Google plus page.

In this tutorial I will show you step by step how to use a free tool called Hootsuite to auto-publish WordPress post to Your Google plus page. You don’t have to install a plugin so it will not add too much load on your website.

Auto Publish WordPress Post to Your Google Plus Page

Go to HootSuite official website. Sign up for a free account or you can sign in with your Twitter, Facebook or Google account. Notice that I signed in with my Google account. If you create a normal account, you may see a slightly different procedure from the following.

After you have signed in, click the Google+ Page button to add Your Google Plus Page to HootSuite.


Then Hootsuite will ask permission to manage your Google+ page.


After that select the Google+ page to be imported to Hootsuite and click Finished Importing.


Next click the Continue button.


You will have to login again to start using Hootsuite. A welcome message will appear. You can safely skip the tour. On the left panel, click the gear icon.


In the new window, select RSS/Atom on the left panel and click the + button to add your WordPress site RSS feed URL.


Enter your feed URL. Select the Google plus page. Choose the frequency of checking your feed. And click save feed.


By default all WordPress site’s feed URL is If you are using Firefox browser, you can go to your website and right click on a blank area, select view page info from the context menu. Then click the Feeds icon and you can see you post feed URL and comment feed URL. We need to enter the post feed URL into Hootsuite.


Now Hootsuite will check your feed at specified frequency, for example once an hour,  to see if your website has new post and publish that new post to your Google plus page.
